Purpose & National Objectives

Sigma Alpha Iota is dedicated to excellence in all that we do. We strive every day to live up to our purpose so passionately presented by the seven founders of this cherished sisterhood.

OUR PURPOSE
 
TO FORM chapters of women college students and alumnae who have a sincere interest in music.

TO UPHOLD the highest standards of music.

TO FURTHER the development of music in America and throughout the world.

TO GIVE inspiration and encouragement to members.

TO ORGANIZE the cultural life of Sigma Alpha Iota members as a contributing factor to their educational growth.

TO SUPPORT the ideals and goals of the member's Alma Mater;

TO ADHERE to the highest standards of citizenship in school, community and fraternity life.

Theta Pi is one of five chapters in the Iota B province.

The asterisks(*) mark the objectives we have selected as personal goals as a province.

NATIONAL OBJECTIVES

1-Strive for excellence and effectiveness in chapter activities through creating and achieving chapter goals.*

2-Promote awareness and support of SAI Philanthropies, Inc. and involve members in its activities.*

3-Encourage community projects that reflect a positive fraternity image.

4-Advocate for music education through collaboration with local school systems.*

5-Celebrate music as a vital art form by supporting quality performances of works by living composers.

6-Recognize the contributions of women in all fields of music.

7-Inspire members to pursue a lifetime commitment to the fraternity through increased fraternity education and interaction between college and alumnae members.
